Experienced and Friendly

Did you know you can buy our flour to bake your own goodies? These fudge brownie like Banana Bread Bars are amazing!

  • 2 cups Healthybake Wholemeal Spelt Flour (you could use any of the flours in our range*)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 mashed overripe bananas
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 90g butter melted
  • 1/2 choc chips or nuts (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees, and prepare a 20x20cm slice tin with baking paper for easy removal.
  2. Combine dry ingredients in large mixing bowl (excluding optional ingredients).
  3. In seperate bowl mash bananas then add all other wet ingredients and mix to combine. And add optional ingredients if desired.
  4. The mix will look wet, remember this is a fudge bar type recipe. If you’d prefer something closer to actual banana bread you can add more flour.
  5. Transfer to your prepared tin and bake for 15-20 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean from centre.
  6. Remove from oven and leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely before cutting to avoid crumbling.
