BANANA BREAD BARS
Did you know you can buy our flour to bake your own goodies? These fudge brownie like Banana Bread Bars are amazing!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Healthybake Wholemeal Spelt Flour (you could use any of the flours in our range*)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 mashed overripe bananas
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 eggs lightly beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 90g butter melted
- 1/2 choc chips or nuts (optional)
Method:
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees, and prepare a 20x20cm slice tin with baking paper for easy removal.
- Combine dry ingredients in large mixing bowl (excluding optional ingredients).
- In seperate bowl mash bananas then add all other wet ingredients and mix to combine. And add optional ingredients if desired.
- The mix will look wet, remember this is a fudge bar type recipe. If you’d prefer something closer to actual banana bread you can add more flour.
- Transfer to your prepared tin and bake for 15-20 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean from centre.
- Remove from oven and leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely before cutting to avoid crumbling.
